It\u2019s hard to believe, but MAD-learn is officially 11 years old. We\u2019ve had an incredible journey, and we couldn\u2019t have done it without the amazing students, teachers, and partners who have been part of the MAD-learn family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past 11 years, we\u2019ve watched students transform their ideas into mobile apps, learning everything from design thinking to coding along the way. Every app created, every challenge tackled, and every student empowered reminds us of why we do what we do. It\u2019s all about inspiring young creators to think critically, solve real-world problems, and, of course, have a little fun along the way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This milestone isn\u2019t just about looking back\u2014it\u2019s about celebrating the future. We\u2019re thrilled to continue empowering students to become the creators, innovators, and problem-solvers of tomorrow. Whether it\u2019s through our hands-on curriculum or through showcasing student apps, we\u2019re more excited than ever to see where the next 11 years take us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, here\u2019s to the students who\u2019ve inspired us, the teachers who\u2019ve guided them, and to every app that\u2019s helped make the world a little more creative. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re beyond excited to announce the launch of Coding Level 3, the next step in our coding curriculum that takes students from basic HTML and CSS to mastering JavaScript. This is accessible to you in the Curriculum tab when you login to MAD-learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Level 1 helps students build a solid foundation with HTML, and Level 2 introduces the styling power of CSS.  Now, Level 3 brings it all together and adds a dynamic new layer by integrating JavaScript into the mix. Students will get hands-on experience with interactivity and learn how to make their apps not only look great but function like never before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a huge leap forward for our learners, offering them the tools to create fully interactive, responsive apps. Whether they\u2019re making games, solving problems, or building creative projects, the skills they\u2019ll develop in Level 3 will open up a world of possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At MAD-learn, we believe in a balance between work and family life.  The whole team took a much-needed break and enjoyed a few weeks off to end 2024.  We rarely celebrate our lives in isolation – we share with each other as a team, and in that vein, we love sharing with you as well!  From our MAD-family (pets included!) to yours, here are a few of our team\u2019s holiday highlights to bring out the warm fuzzies during these cold winter days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a whirlwind close to 2024, we\u2019re picking back up this month with a few upcoming events. We can\u2019t wait to see our DeKalb County teachers this week at the DeKalb County School District 2025 Technology Competition this Saturday, January 17th.  Please stop by and say hello if you\u2019re attending!  Also, don\u2019t miss our founder and CEO, Alefiya Master at FETC, speaking on a panel about the intersection of entrepreneurship and education. Click here<\/a> for more information about Friday\u2019s session Empowering Edupreneurs: Nurturing Innovation in Education.  We hope to see you there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We couldn\u2019t help ourselves and had to feature one of our favorite MAD-experts, Heather Miller, Computer Science and Engineering teacher at Chamblee High School in DeKalb County again.  Heather has been an ardent supporter of MAD-learn for several years and we couldn\u2019t be more excited that she and her students are headed to the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. later this year to be recognized for their MAD-learn-created app Voting Buddy<\/a> as part of the Congressional App Challenge<\/a>.  Although Heather introduced this competition to both her computer science and engineering students, it was her 10th and 11th-grade engineering students who used the engineering design process to develop this relevant and timely app in just two weeks!  We\u2019re sending a hearty congratulations to Heather and her students!<\/p>\n\n\n
