MAD-news for May: Virtual Summer Camp options to consider

Hi Guest,

Happy Friday!

Today, I want to give thanks to our AMAZING MAD-learn team, each of whom serves as a pillar of our organization, each of whom feels the burning need to keep moving forward and do what is best for students, each of whom I admire and respect beyond words.
Each member of our team (spanning the US, Ghana, and India) has made immense sacrifices in the last two months of the global COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that we can avoid layoffs, continue working from home, focus on supporting teachers and students who are learning from home, and stick together as a family. We know that we are #inthistogether.
Gregg, Ashutosh, Bhupendra, Rani, Lokendra, Kavita and Doreen. I salute you! I can’t thank you enough for being on this journey with me and I am humbled to be rowing this boat with you.

MAD-teacher of the Month

Kevin Honeycutt is one of the hardest working people in education. He works tirelessly to help fellow teachers be their best by introducing them to innovative tools and programs like MAD-learn. He has even created his own app for the MAD-store, called “WeCanLearn!”. If you haven’t already crossed paths with this powerful personality, chances are good that you will.

Kevin spent 13 years teaching art in K-12 schools and now travels the world sharing ideas with educators and parents. He currently serves as a technology integration specialist at ESSDACK, an educational service center based in Hutchinson, Kansas, where he researches and designs programs, training and staff development with a passion for helping teachers and learners become successful with educational uses of technology.

In 1991, he received the Making IT Happen Award, an internationally recognized program for leaders in the field of educational technology integration in K–12 schools. The program identifies and rewards educational technology leaders around the world for their commitment and innovation.
Kevin’s whole career is based upon changing other people’s lives. He believes that if he can change a teacher’s idea of how to reach students, especially high-risk students, it will affect the way she will teach and, in the long run, change a student’s life. Kevin’s message to students is, “You can do anything in the world that you want if you work for it, success is not winning the lottery.”
