MAD-news for April: Supporting YOU during COVID-19

Hi Guest,

I hope you are doing well and staying safe at home. I wanted to share an update with you from the MAD-learn family:

We are now one month into school closures across most of North America. Our team has been working 100% remotely (many of us already do) and have been focused on supporting teachers and students who would like to engage with technology creation as passion projects during this time. The good news is, we are already a fully digital and online program! One of our MAD-teachers said last week “I am so glad I have MAD-learn because it is the perfect tool to use during school closures! I can just assign an app project to my students and they are able to create amazing products independently.”

To help educators globally during this crisis, we opened up MAD-learn to be free and available to ANY parent, teacher, or student that wants access to a relevant and engaging experience while they are learning from home. It is the best that we can do to help and support our educators during these changing and trying times. Here is the free access link to share with teachers in your school, district, or network:

Free Access to MAD-learn

I also wanted to give a special shoutout to all of our wonderful friends, family, fellow edu-warriors, and MAD-believers who have donated to our GoFundMe initiative. We can’t thank you enough for your support!

Serving Teachers and Students During Troubled Times

It has been great to stay in touch with veteran MAD-teachers who realize the value of this worthwhile and engaging resource as a part of their new distance learning programs. We are now hosting weekly online chats with our veteran teachers, and we’ll continue to do so for the foreseeable future. We are also hosting weekly sessions for those taking advantage of free trials so that teachers who are new to MAD-learn are supported in their experimentation and/or implementation.

Feedback has been very positive regarding the 10-Step Program we developed, which allows students to create apps on their own by following a specific set of lessons and resources directly available to them. This special program is accessed by clicking the banner at the top of the dashboard after logging in to MAD-learn and includes both video and slide deck versions of key resources.

MAD-learn’s NEW Makeover

What might be the coolest thing we have been working on is the “new skin” the platform will sport. The look is cleaner and more user friendly, even though the basic functionality has remained consistent with what teachers and students have been enjoying already. Here’s a teaser of what’s coming soon:

MAD-teachers of the Month

We know our teachers around the world have been dedicating every minute of their day to ensuring students can be successful while learning from home. We want to dedicate this month’s MAD-teacher of the Month to ALL of you who have been working so hard to  keep your students on track and engaged with their work. We especially thank those of you who have been using our program to help with those efforts. We are impressed with the work we are seeing being produced each day, and we encourage everyone to make MAD-learn part of the student experience during these trying times.

We truly are #InThisTogether!
