One of our favorite MAD-experts and ambassadors, Heather Miller, who teaches at Chamblee High School in Dekalb County (GA) has passed on her love of MAD-learn and mobile app development to her son.  Kyle Miller-Dotson, who is a 4th grader at Wadsworth Magnet School, won 2nd place at the DCSD Tech Competition<\/a> for his app Swim, Gym, Tri.  (Did we mention the DeKalb County Instructional Technology Department used MAD-learn to create the event app, too!  Check it out here<\/a>).  He created the app about the triathlon sports he participates in including swimming, biking and running, and was inspired to make this app after his parents created #TEAMKYLE triathlon t-shirts.  We\u2019re so proud of you, Kyle!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve kicked off 2024 with a smorgasbord of travel!  Our team has been all over the country presenting at conferences and facilitating App Camps.  We started January with a trip to Memphis to train a phenomenal group of Memphis-Shelby teachers on how to use MAD-learn and we\u2019ll end this month with a return trip to work with their students at their Get Ready, Let\u2019s Code<\/a> event.Then, it was off to Austin, Texas to run app camps at three different Del Valle ISD Middle Schools.  Students in 7th and 8th grade had the chance to create mobile apps and impressed us with their innovative app concepts including an app about urban planning, an app about how to play the trumpet and one about math where students converted their art into digital images – all in a one-day camp!
In the meantime, our CEO and Founder Alefiya Master headed to Orlando to join a panel discussion with Dr. Matthew Joseph (Assistant Superintendent New Bedford Schools, X-factor EDU) and Adam Bellow (Co-Founder & CEO, Breakout EDU) about student entrepreneurship at FETC.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, it was off to Las Vegas (we missed the Super Bowl by a week!) to teach students at Clark County High Schools how to use code to build apps.  They developed some of the most creative apps we\u2019ve seen.

We wanted to send out a giant thank you to Chandra Porter at Champion Theme Middle School, who presented on behalf of MAD-learn recently at GETEA.  She introduced other educators at the conference to mobile app development and how she uses it with her engineering students.<\/p>\n\n\n

Excitement and chatter filled the halls of the Cobb Innovation and Technology Academy Tuesday as Cobb County middle and high school students interacted with STEM technology, recruiters, and companies to learn more about future career opportunities. MAD-learn had the privilege of attending to share information with students about our technology, let them get hands-on with coding as well learn more about our virtual internship program.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranjeet Kumar is the newest addition to the MAD-learn family and we are so excited to welcome him to the team and the magic! Ranjeet is our Quality Assurance Engineer and is in charge of making sure that every new feature or module that we add is bug-free and works flawlessly. Ranjeet lives in Delhi, India, and will be working directly with the rest of our Product Team in India. He is so excited to be working with us and we can’t wait to see the new heights he helps us climb to! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
