Alefiya was at this year\u2019s Georgia Educational Technology Conference (GaETC) in Atlanta November 3-5. This annual event is sponsored by the Georgia Educational Technology Consortium, Inc. \"\"<\/a>The Conference provides educators the opportunity to learn about the latest in educational technology and offers a forum for discussion among professionals concerned with technology in education.<\/span><\/div>\n
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n
GaETC offers almost 250 concurrent sessions, nationally known speakers and presenters, workshops focusing on the latest in technological innovations and software, and over 200 commercial exhibits.<\/span> Alefiya\u2019s enthusiasm and entrepreneurial prowess brought energy to the three days of meeting district partners, new friends, and learning from phenomenal education leaders across the state. Atlanta Braves Day was also celebrated in grand style!\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Dekalb County School District Goes Completely MAD! <\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n
We are so excited to announce that DeKalb County School District in GA has adopted MAD-learn district-wide!\"\"<\/a> Thanks to the successes of our ongoing partnership and the vision of the CTAE department (and Marilynn Hollis), every teacher and student across the district can now access MAD-learn. Teachers throughout the county have already done amazing things, and we look forward to continuing our support of DeKalb County students!<\/div>\n

MAD-teacher of the Month<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a>Dr. Stacey McJunkins is an accomplished teacher in the Rich Township High School District. Her years of experience have taught her that one should never be afraid to try new things, because they keep things fresh for students and teacher, alike. She has been known for wanting the best for her students, giving them, in her words, \u201cthe tools and drive to be self-starters\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

She has often referred to MAD-learn as a great tool, even a \u201clifesaver\u201d during current times of new teaching challenges. She has developed a unique approach to delivering the MAD-learn program, one that meets her students where they are and that has been developed in a true \u201cpartnership\u201d manner. <\/span>Her free spirit is epitomized by her love for riding her motorcycle (although she admits the Chicago winter makes it hard to enjoy it, now). We\u2019re certainly glad that MAD-learn is along for the ride! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A great way to transition your students from simple, editor-based HTML screens to the more complex (and exciting) HCJ Builder template is the introduction of a Flash Cards screen. This screen involves HTML and CSS code that is built into the template, allowing students to take that first step toward taking existing written code and adapting it to meet the needs of the app they are building. There are a multitude of uses for this template, so be sure to share it with your students!<\/span><\/p>\n
