Leah has been a strong supporter of MAD-learn since the program was introduced there in the beginning of the 2017 school year. She oversees the broader program,<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Calibri, Candara, Segoe, Segoe UI, Optima, Arial, sans-serif;\">while still leading students in a variety of STEM and CTE related endeavors and working tirelessly as both academic and athletic leader (she is also the head coach of the successful girls\u2019 volleyball team!).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She has been a mentor to her peers, like Vivian Robinson, who is also a skilled MAD-teacher\u00a0(seen at left, here, in the picture with Ms. Rothrock). Leah\u2019s students were able presenters at Parkwood Middle&#8217;s school-wide MAD-learn Student Showcase in the first year, and she has helped shape the program and move it forward at Parkwood. \u201cMy students love creating apps on MAD learn,\u201d she commented, adding, Not only are students more engaged, but they are excited about coming to class to learn about the engineering design process and basic computer science skills that will get them far in our 21st century world!\u201d Thanks to her efforts and those of her colleagues, Parkwood Middle School students have created nearly 2000 apps since September of 2017!
