MAD-news for November: Invitation for your student

Hi Guest,

Better late than never, right? Our most recent trip to Honolulu for the Schools of the Future conference got me slightly delayed with sending out our monthly newsletter on the 15th. It was a good reason! Mahalo to our amazing partners at Nanakuli-Waianae and Campbell-Kapolei Complex Areas who also brought teachers in to work with us and learn all about how they can use MAD-learn effectively in their classrooms. We’re so excited about our new partnership.

Happy Thanksgiving next week for all who celebrate! We wish you love, kindness, respect, togetherness, gratitude for the big and small things, and above all, some delicious food 😉 Our team will be celebrating together with one of our famous Virtual Cook Parties this Friday.

Looking for computer science activities to implement with your students during CSEd week?  MAD-learn is the perfect tool.  Students can create their own mobile apps while learning about coding in a user-friendly (and non-scary!) way.  Click here for a 5-lesson plan to use MAD-learn every day during CSEd week from December 9-12, 2024.

Also, don’t forget to nominate a CS Hero.   Is there a teacher in your school who is doing exceptional computer science work? (or…are you?) Mobile App Development counts!  Nominate them using this form and they might win one of three $50 Amazon gift cards!  We’ll announce the three lucky winners during CSEd Week, so make sure to get your nominations in by Friday, December 6th.

As usual, we’ve been on the move, traveling around the country for a variety of conferences, class visits and events.  Check out our photos below from the GA STEM/STEAM Forum, GEAR UP West in Albuquerque, New Mexico and NAE4-HYDP 2024 Annual Conference in Boise, Idaho.

Mountain View Elementary School STEM Instructional Specialist Cassondra Zielinski has a wide variety of interests, including space, tech and robotics.  We love that she is all about students engaging with coding and technology.  Her elementary school students are using MAD-learn to create apps, in part, because Cassie is always looking for opportunities to foster teamwork, collaboration, hands-on learning and problem-solving, skills MAD-learn proudly fosters.
