Hi Guest,
This is the month of love and celebrating Black History, so why not celebrate with Aphrodite and some of these amazing apps created by students across the country?

There are a lot of changes and moving pieces in our education system at the moment. Let us always focus on and remember what is most important – getting our kids what they need, no matter what. We are in this with you.

We had the privilege of visiting Cassie Zielinski’s STEM lab at Mountain View ES in Cobb County, Georgia, and loved learning about her process for implementing mobile apps with her students. Her 5th graders worked together in pairs to find commonalities and then created an app based on their interests. We loved seeing their imaginations at work as well as their metacognitive approach to app development. Check out the student work samples below to see how real teachers in real classrooms are inspiring collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity with mobile app development.

As usual, we’ve covered the gamut this month from frigid temps in Chicago to tropical paradise in Hawaii. We recently visited Chicago Public Schools to share mobile app development with STEM teachers and students as well as the 2025 Hawaii CS PD Summit. We visited Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, Florida to show how MAD-learn aligns with CTE standards. We also had the privilege of judging an FBLA competition for The School District of Palm Beach County. Check out the photos of our travels below.

Amy Daggy is willing to try it all! As a STEAM Coordinator at Evergreen Academy Middle School in Chicago Public Schools, Amy was excited to pilot MAD-learn with her students. Her class of 7th graders experienced mobile app development first-hand so they could become the “experts” and help other students learn as well. MAD-learn had the chance to visit her class and we had a blast introducing mobile app development with a copycat activity in which students tried to replicate a screen. The competition was fierce and we loved seeing the students actively engaged and having fun!
