Founder & CEO
MAD-learn is proud to announce that the company has been recognized as a 2021 winner of the “Best of Atlanta” Award. The award program was created to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of businesses and organizations in and around Atlanta. Its mission is to raise the profile of exemplary companies and entrepreneurs among the press, the business community, and the general public.
Selection as a 2021 Award Winner is determined by the marketing success of an organization in our local community within our category. The selection process does not include nominations, voting, contests or surveys. The Atlanta Award Program uses only empirical data supplied by independent third parties as input into its award algorithm.

Congressional App Challenge
We are a proud partner of the Congressional App Challenge and last week we were invited to speak with the 2020 winners during their Inspiration Fair. I don’t know if we succeeded in inspiring the students, but they DEFINITELY inspired us with their ideas, their apps, their voices, and their visions for the future. We will be hiring several of those students into internship positions very soon! Thank you for the invitation Joe Alessi and team! #Congress4CS #HouseofCode
MAD-teacher of the Month
It has been said that the quality of a teacher is best measured by the outcomes realized by her students. Lawanda Stephens-Sanford, MAD-teacher of the Month from Arabia Mountain High School in DeKalb County near Atlanta, GA is a testament to this. We recently had the honor of serving on judging panels for a virtual set of Shark Tanks in which her students shared their work in an authentic “pitch” session.
We were impressed not only by the apps they created, but by how they presented themselves in such a professional manner. These qualities are part of what Lawanda expects of her students, beyond attention to working at their highest level.
New Template Provides a Simple Look at Coding
Flash Cards can now be created with a brand new template. It uses HTML and CSS code to show students how these codes look and function while giving students a simple way to customize the screen for a variety of uses. Simple drill and practice, animated photo display, and more can be added to an app by simply changing key elements in the code. For more on how this template works, click here!
