MAD-learn named EDTECH AWARDS 2020 Trendsetter!

Congratulations and a very big acknowledgment to edtech’s best and brightest innovators, leaders, and trendsetters!

2020 has kicked off on a rough note as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to surge across the globe. Although we are facing the pinch along with millions of businesses worldwide, news from the EDTECH AWARDS brightened our day. We are thrilled to announce that MAD-learn has been named a 2020 EdTech Awards Trendsetter!

“Being recognized for our virtual and remote work and learning opportunities for students, along with our ability to bring STEM and technology creation to ANY classroom, signifies the importance today of breaking down walls and intermingling curriculum in innovative ways. Why not build an app about the Holocaust in your history class?” says Alefiya Master, founder and CEO of MAD-learn.

Finalists and winners for The EdTech Awards 2020 were announced to a worldwide audience of educators, technologists, students, parents, and policymakers interested in building a better future for learners and leaders in the education and workforce sectors. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the US-based EdTech Awards program is the largest recognition program in all of education technology, recognizing the biggest names in edtech – and those who soon will be.

“This year has been different, to say the least. However, despite formidable challenges brought about by world events—including locked-down cities, standstill travel, and closed offices, businesses and schools—we endure,” said Victor Rivero, who as Editor-in-Chief of EdTech Digest, oversees the program.

“While The EdTech Awards salutes all those on the front lines of help, with an extraordinary shift to online learning, really acknowledging the innovators, leaders, and trendsetters—particularly in our field—is more important than ever,” said Rivero.

The EdTech Awards recognizes people in and around education for outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology to enrich the lives of learners everywhere. Featuring edtech’s best and brightest, the annual program shines a spotlight on cool tools, inspiring leaders and innovative trendsetters across the K-12, Higher Education, and Skills and Workforce sectors.

The EdTech Awards recognize people—and the products they produce and lives they shape— with three main honors:

  • The EdTech Leadership Awards
  • The EdTech Cool Tool Awards
  • The EdTech Trendsetter Awards

The EdTech Awards were established in 2010 to recognize, acknowledge, and celebrate the most exceptional innovators, leaders, and trendsetters in education technology. This year’s finalists and winners were narrowed from the larger field and judged based on various criteria, including: pedagogical workability, efficacy and results, support, clarity, value and potential.

Past winners and finalists include Claned, Soundtrap, Blackboard, Discovery Education, DreamBox Learning, Edmodo, Edthena, Flipgrid, Freshgrade, Promethean, Scholastic, Schoology, SMART Technologies and more. MAD-learn now joins those ranks.

It is an absolute honor for MAD-learn to have been recognized as an edtech company impacting the lives of thousands of students around the world in helping them become creators of technology, not just consumers of it.
